The Nordic countries are often regarded as being in front when it comes to gender equality and women’s position within the labor force. However, when it comes to the number of women starting own businesses compared to men, the Nordic region is in fact behind the rest of Europe. This also applies to the cultural and creative industries, that is a key arena for innovation for a sustainable future.   If we want to reach Gender Equality in the Nordics and beyond, it is key that we get more women into the world of entrepreneurship and innovation.   This talk investigates what factors prevent women from succeeding as entrepreneurs – what can women do differently themselves and what can concretely be improved in the startup system surrounding them. We will see a perspective from different stakeholders with different national backgrounds and perspectives. The talk will provide concrete advice and takeaways to the audience, both for the women and for the different eco system players.
